Reason Established: Established as an organizational unit of the Dwight Look College of Engineering in the Department of Petroleum Engineering to produce significant advances in upstream petroleum engineering technology through the combined efforts of faculty, post-doctoral researchers, highly qualified graduate students, in close cooperation with industry. Name change approved by the Board in December 2005.
