Reason Established: Established as an organizational unit of the College of Education and Human Development within the Department of Educational Psychology to support the self-determination, community integration, and quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. The Center on Disability and Development: 1) Provides community services and training for individuals with disabilities and their families and those who support them; 2) Conducts research and evaluation to improve school services and outcomes and increase the quality of community living for people with disabilities; 3) Offers disability-related graduate studies through Texas A&M University; and 4) Develops tools for better information dissemination to people with disabilities and their support systems.
